General policy and scope of the journal
The CBAB – CROP BREEDING AND APPLIED BIOTECHNOLOGY (ISSN 1518-7853, print vesion, ISSN 1984-7033, on line version) – is the official quarterly journal of the Brazilian Society of Plant Breeding (www.sbmp.org.br/), abbreviated CROP BREED APPL BIOTECHNOL.
It is indexed in SciELO Brasil, ISI Thomson Reuters, Scopus, AGRIS, CAB International Abstracts, Biosys, Latindex, Periódica, Chemical Abstracts Service, Agricola, Agrobase, Wilson, Ebsco, DOAJ, Acervo Documental da Embrapa and Portal da Capes. It publishes original scientific articles which contribute to the scientific and technological development of plant breeding and agriculture. Articles should be to do with basic and applied research on improvement of perennial and annual plants, within the fields of genetics, conservation of germplasm, biotechnology, genomics, cytogenetics, experimental statistics, seeds, food quality, biotic and abiotic stress, and correlated areas. The CBAB publishes, besides articles, other text forms, equally subjected to the discretion of ad hoc reviewers, such as Review, Notes, Plant breeding programs, Release of cultivars, Book review, Viewpoint and, Letters, all of them in English language.

A CBAB - CROP BREEDING AND APPLIED BIOTECHNOLOGY (ISSN 1518-7853, versão impressa, ISSN 1984-7033, versão on line) - é a revista trimestral oficial da Sociedade Brasileira de Melhoramento de Plantas (www.sbmp.org.br). Seu nome internacional abreviado é CROP BREED APPL BIOTECH.
A revista está indexada no SciELO Brasil, ISI Thomson Reuters, Scopus, AGRIS, CAB International Abstracts, Biosys, Latindex, Periódica, Chemical Abstracts Service, Agricola, Agrobase, Wilson, Ebsco, DOAJ, Acervo Documental da Embrapa e Portal da Capes, e destina-se à publicação de artigos científicos originais, exclusivamente em inglês, que possam contribuir para o desenvolvimento científico e tecnológico do melhoramento e da agricultura. Os artigos deverão contemplar as pesquisas básica e aplicada em melhoramento de plantas perenes e anuais, nas áreas de genética, conservação de germoplasma, biotecnologia, genômica, citogenética, estatística experimental, sementes, qualidade de alimentos, estresse biótico e abiótico, e áreas correlatas. A CBAB publica ainda, além de artigos, outras modalidades de trabalhos, como Revisões, Notas, Programas de melhoramento, Lançamento de cultivares, Resenha de livro, Pontos de vista e Cartas, todos submetidos ao crivo de revisores ad hoc.
